Unable to post to Shoutbox

Ok, so here's my issue.

I installed my shoutbox without issues and have it showing up with proper perms and it's wonderful to see it there. (currently it's in testing so only Admin accounts can see it.) However, if someone tries to post a message to it, the little status wheel spins and nothing happens. I have checked via the chrome development console and the following error appears:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot use 'in' (jquery.min.js?assets_version=3:2) operator to search for '30487' in <!DOCTYPE html>

So a bit of google searching later and I'm at a bit of a loss.

So here's the relevant data:

It's a phpbb setup running on an nginx webserver within debian Jessie.

Did you modify the included jquery from phpBB?

There is some issue with your app.php, this is not a issue caused by the shoutbox, all extensions (And if phpBB core would use controllers the core as well) will have a issue with. This page (http://knit-purl-binary.com/app.php/ajaxshoutbox/getAll ) should not return the board index, it should return a list of shoutbox posts.
You will need to configure your webserver to support PATH_INFO and/or enable and configure the rewrite module.

It turns out the easiest solution was to configure nginx to use PATH_INFO. Thank you for the support!

I had the same issue in this thread, which I resolved following the steps here: http://kbeezie.com/php-self-path-nginx/

Now when I try to use the shoutbox I get an ajax error bad gateway. Any idea what's wrong?

That sounds like a wrongly configured webserver. The extension doesn't return bad gateways. Try looking in your error log to see if there is anything in there.
